1. What Claire Does
Claire provides a voice-first companion experience that can help older adults and families organise care information, receive reminders, review health and wearable signals, and share selected care updates with authorised linked accounts.
Claire is an evolving service. Features may vary by device, location, connected health source, account permissions, and availability. By using Claire, you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Medical and Emergency Disclaimer
Claire is not a medical device, healthcare provider, diagnosis tool, emergency service, or substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or care. Claire may surface information that needs attention, but it cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any signal, summary, alert, or recommendation.
Do not use Claire for emergencies. If someone may be in immediate danger or needs urgent medical help in Taiwan, call 119. Elsewhere, contact the applicable local emergency service or a qualified healthcare professional.
3. AI Companion Disclosure
Claire uses AI to generate replies, summaries, and insights. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular situation. You must use independent judgment and seek qualified advice before making health, safety, financial, legal, or other important decisions.
Claire does not replace a conversation with a family member, caregiver, clinician, or emergency responder.
4. Family / Elder Consent
You may only link, invite, or access another person's Claire account when you have their informed consent or other lawful authority to do so. This is especially important when an account contains health, voice, or care-related information.
If you set up or manage an account for an older adult, you are responsible for explaining the service, the sharing choices, and how to remove linked access.
5. Caregiver Responsibilities
Caregivers remain responsible for the care decisions they make. Keep emergency contacts, notification settings, devices, and connected health sources current. You should maintain an independent plan for urgent situations and should not rely on Claire as your only way to check on someone.
You are responsible for protecting account credentials and for the activity of people you authorise to use linked accounts.
6. Voice, Recording, and Transcription Consent
By using voice features, you consent to the processing of your voice input as described in the Privacy Policy. You must not record, submit, or transmit another person's voice or personal information without the permission required by applicable law.
You are responsible for making sure that anyone near a voice interaction understands when their voice may be captured or transcribed.
7. Notifications and Reliability
Notifications, reminders, alerts, and health-data syncs can be delayed, unavailable, duplicated, or inaccurate because of device settings, connectivity, provider availability, data-source limitations, software changes, or other factors. Claire does not guarantee that a notification will be delivered, seen, or acted on.
You should keep alternative communication and care arrangements in place.
8. Health Data and Wearable Integrations
Claire can work with Apple Health, Health Connect, and other supported health or wearable services. You control the permissions granted through those services. Their data, availability, and accuracy are governed by their own settings and terms.
You should review connected data for accuracy and promptly revoke access to a device or service you no longer use.
9. Beta Limitations
Claire may offer features that are in beta, preview, or early access. These features may change, be interrupted, or be removed without notice. They may contain errors and may not be suitable for every person or use case.
10. Fees and Payment, if applicable
If Claire offers paid features, we will show the applicable fees, billing period, and any additional terms before you are charged. You are responsible for providing accurate payment information and for any taxes that apply to your purchase.
We may change fees for future billing periods with advance notice where required by law.
11. Acceptable Use
You must not misuse Claire. In particular, you must not:
- Use Claire for an emergency response, diagnosis, or treatment decision without qualified professional input.
- Access another person's account or data without consent or lawful authority.
- Use Claire to harm, harass, exploit, deceive, or violate another person's privacy or rights.
- Interfere with, probe, reverse engineer, or circumvent the security or operation of Claire, except where the law does not permit that restriction.
- Use Claire in a way that violates applicable law or a third party's terms.
12. Account Termination
You may stop using Claire or request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, created a safety or security risk, or used the service unlawfully.
When an account is closed, we will handle personal information as described in the Privacy Policy.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Claire and its service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of Claire.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Claire's total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to Claire for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to conflict-of-law rules. To the extent permitted by law, disputes will be submitted to the courts located in Taipei, Taiwan.
